Now you can manage your bibliographies online using EndNote Web. EndNote Web doesn't have as many advanced features as the desktop version but still provides most of the basics. The Library has access to EndNote Web through its subscription to Web of Science. In order to use EndNote Web, you must first register for the service.

The guide includes the candidates' official websites, national party websites, news sites (national and international), as well as links to websites related to Polling and Election Oversight and Campaign Finance.

ProQuest Central

Right before the beginning of the fall semester, the Library added a new database, ProQuest Central. ProQuest Central is an enormous multidisciplinary database which consists of over 8,000 full-text titles. It includes databases such as ProQuest Biology, ProQuest Education, Pharmaceutical News Index, ProQuest Psychology, ProQuest Social Science, ProQuest Religion, and ProQuest Science. Newspapers such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal as well as publications like Barron's are also part of the collection.

Free Science Database Now Available

Scitopia, a free index of the content (including articles)of 21 leading Science and Technology Societies is now available on the Library's Articles & More page. The database indexes over 3.5 million documents, plus patents and government data. It is powered by Deep Web Technologies' Explorit Research Accelerator federated search engine.

History of Sprague Library Presented in Animoto Music Video

Kathy Hughes, Head of Cataloging, has created an Animoto Music Video clip which chronicles the growth and development of Sprague Library between the 1960s and 1990s. The video clip includes digitized photos of Sprague Library as it appeared at different points during the 30 year period. The music playing in the background is Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro Overture".

Dance in Video

The Library has just added Dance in Video to it's collection of electronic resources in the Performing Arts. Dance in Video "provides streaming video of dance productions and documentaries by the most influential performers and companies of the 20th century. Selections cover ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, experimental, and improvisational dance, as well as forerunners of the forms and pioneers of modern concert dance.

Library adds MathSciNet

MathSciNet, a database which indexes mathematical literature going back to 1940, contains citations to books, conference proceedings, and over 1700 journals. This database enhances the Library's growing collection of math and science resources

New Environmental Database

Greenfile, a freely available environmental database from Ebsco, includes topics such as global warming, energy conservation, natural resources, and pollution. GreenFile covers content going back more than 35 years. This database can be found on our Articles & More page.

Oxford Online Language Dictionaries

Did you ever need to lookup something in a French or Spanish dictionary but not have one handy. Now you can lookup foreign terms conveniently from your computer with Oxford Online Language Dictionarites which is available on our Articles & More page. Oxford includes French, German, Spanish, and Italian dictionaries. Some noteworthy features include usage examples and illustrative explanations of grammatical terms, as well as help with spelling and punctuation. Also included are hundreds of correspondence templates including sample letters, CVs and resumes to provide practical help with writing in each language.

Update: Oxford Language Dictionaries has now added Russian and Chinese Language Dictionaries!

Montclarion Online Archive at Sprague

Sprague Library has digitized back issues of the student newspaper, the Montclarion, from the 60s, 70s, and 90s, loaded the images on a locally hosted server and made them available publicly . Click here to search our archive.
